So it has just occurred to me that I haven't really filled a lot of you in on what my trip to China is all about. Inspired by Ashleigh Moulders Blog (http://bigwidechina.blogspot.com). Here is a quick run down of whats happening:
I have been selected along with Ashleigh Moulder to act as a Tutor Assistant in delivering a second year research paper at Zhejing Water Conservancy and Hydropower College (ZWCHC) in Hangzhou China. This Scholarship is to assist John Inglis (the Management Tutor at NMIT) in teaching approximately 60 students.
- We leave on the 4th of October arriving in Hangzhou on the 5th October to start teaching on Saturday the 8th October.
- Classes will typically be from 8am-11am with a two hour lunch break before resuming teaching from 1-3ish. We will be teaching during the day and doing our own school work at night.
- Hangzhou is 5 hours behind New Zealand once daylight savings arrive.
- We will be teaching for seven days before heading to Shanghai (on the bullet train!) for the night before letting loose on the shops! Teaching will start again on the Monday.
- After being away for 19 days we will be heading home on Saturday the 22nd October. Arriving home in Nelson at 1pm on Sunday 23rd October in time to watch the Rugby World Cup Final!
There are close to 7million people in Hangzhou, the water is undrinkable and the shopping is going to be awesome!
xx
